In the event, the Court does not enter a Final Decree of Divorce according to the law in Texas; you may want to appeal your case.  An appeal is a separate and new legal proceeding filed in the appellate court. You may need to hire a new lawyer to handle the appeal, and pay another retainer to cover attorney fees and costs.

Only limited issues can be appealed and the burden of proof to obtain an appellate court reversal of a trial court's final decision is difficult. When you are successful in the appellate court, the lower court, normally the judge that heard the case originally, will hear the entire case or portions of the case again.
